Aromatherapy is now an accepted complimentary therapy for animals as well as humans. Due to recent advances in chromeograph technology, we are now able to measure and grade the components in botanical oils for therapeutic value and quality. We are able to determine the amount of esters, phenols, terpenes etc. in the essential oils that give it healing properties of the plant from which it was extracted. Many well known companies are using substandard commercial grade oils and calling it aromatherapy. It is not. Using commercial grade oils is not therapeutic. Just because it smells like a plant, does not equate it to therapeutic. BUYER BEWARE! I have analysis reports on all of my oils stating the degree and quality of the components in the oil to assure I am using the highest grade oils available.
Aromatherapy works 2 ways: Through the olfactory sensors in your nasal passages, and transdermally. It is widely accepted that a person can absorb medication through their skin via a "patch". This is the same way essential oils can bring theraputic compounds to your body. Another way is by breathing them in to your lungs. Oils change from a liquid to a vapor when exposed to oxygen or heat, releasing the molecules of compounds into the air. You breathe them in to your lungs and the molecules enter your bloodstream the same way oxygen does. Compounds from essential oils can be detected in urine 6-8 hours later. It is the same way for horses. For your convenience I have made an extensive list of common oils and the benefits for horses as well as people. All of these oils are available for purchase in safe dilution of fractionated coconut oil for general use or in pure form for aroma professionals. The pricing varies due to variations in climate and market, so if you wish to purchase one of the oils please email me for pricing. Thank you!
